The Beatles Sock Buddies

Hello everyone. I am laid up again at home, this time trying to recover from sinus surgery. YUCK. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. This is my 2nd one, and a total last resort as to what could heal my weird chronic fevers. I have to say it has not been as bad as the first surgery when I was only 17, but it's still horrendous! Unfortunately, I don't feel like doing much in the way of creativity this week. I managed to eek out one little Sock Buddy today, but it was a struggle!

Before my surgery I managed to finish a commission for a group of Beatles Sock Buddies! I got the request from a guy who saw me in the Tulsa World article. He was super excited about it. I was rather apprehensive & had no idea what to charge him or if I could even do it. Of course, they took way longer than predicted. They turned out pretty good, I think. His girlfriend, whom they were for, loved them. He even asked for a B.B. King doll as a follow up order.

I had to add some accessories to distinguish the guys. I struck out at Hobby Lobby in the doll department, so I had to use some scrapping embellishments from a band set. He wanted the mop-top era Beatles, so I went with the Ed Sullivan suits for the outfits. I made those from socks also. Thankfully, my mom was in town visiting & helped me finish them over the 4th of July weekend.

George's tiny guitar!

Celebrity Sock Buddies could be a new genre...I did have a request at the show for an Elvis, but haven't heard back from the lady. :) Not sure about making a sequined jumpsuit!

How fun are those! And how awesome the article is giving you so much new business! :)

Hope you start to feel better soon! My dad has had lots of different kinds of surgery he swears his sinus one was the worst! :( Let me know if you need anything!
